I am so in love with this #washidress I am also so so glad I took the time (and by time I mean MANY HOURS) to fiddle with and refine the pattern for bust adjustments and length, and general fit. Now I have a pattern that suits my body perfectly. Also, because I have such a distaste for shirring, I downloaded the #washixp and now I have more options like collars, sleeves, and many other ear choices. I’ll be making a lot of Washis for this spring and summer. All that is left is to hem this lovely thing and then it’ll be ready for the town. I’m not going to tackle that tonight because it’s also midnight and I have to actually get some sleep to prep for a busy day with my kids tomorrow.

On my way to finishing this bebe up. 😍 I love the encased elastic SO much more than f”@$ing shirring. #washidress
I am now about 1/2 done with this #washidress and I think that I may be working with double gauze that was in disguise in the quilting cotton department. I’d be more done, but I had to really slow down and pin everything more preciously than I would have if it’d been cotton. I also had a horrible time with shirring (which I hate on a good day) so I am going to look at the other option with the invisible encased elastic. I’m pretty sure this is going to be awesome when it’s done, and so damn soft.. but for now it’s coming up on 12:30am and it’s just giving me a headache.
This is part of my struggle of being a SAHM. I come to studio late at night and then feel under pressure to get as much work done as possible, but I can only work so fast and materials are gonna do what they do.

This super soft cotton is about to become a #washidress. I made a top during the fall and it’s just about to be spring again. The next two pics are my muslin tester. I was trying to figure out how to make it an appropriate length for me since I’m 6’ tall and the average pattern is somewhere around 5’6. Turns out I way overshot the length. Which... is why you should make muslin testers. I’m very impatient, so you can imagine it’s my favorite step. Next up.. first Washi of the year!!
February had me in a funk and it inspired me to bring home what I thought was a christmas cactus. @weekendcraft thought it might be an Easter cactus, which I had never heard of.. and she was right! The pink flowers started blooming and it’s definitely brightening my mood (along with some warmer weather!)
